The 2015 Chrysler 300 is currently on display at the 2014 LA Auto Show with a revised exterior, an even more luxurious interior, a new 8-speed transmission, a variety of new high tech goodies and a new super-premium trimline, but what you won’t see in the 2015 300 lineup is a high performance SRT model – at least not in the United States, anyway.

When the announcement was made to discontinue the SRT brand, it was reported by some that the 2015 Chrysler 300C would not get an SRT variant like the 2015 Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger, but a new report from Allpar suggests that the highest performance Chrysler sedan will live on into the 2015 model year – just without the Hellcat Hemi.

The news surfaced last week that the Chrysler Group’s SRT division was being consolidated into the Dodge brand and with that came the news that the high performance SRT variant of the Chrysler 300C would be discontinued – a move that will most certainly sadden Mopar fans, but it won’t have much negative impact on the company going forward.

The official fuel economy figures for the 2015 Chrysler 200 have been announced and while they are still a touch lower than the real world figures I experienced while driving, the full spread of fuel economy numbers are good enough for the next generation 200 to rival the bestselling cars in the segment – including the Ford Fusion and the Toyota Camry.

The Chrysler Group hasn’t announced any fuel economy figures for the awesome new 2015 200 sedan, but the first official figures from the government have popped up on the FuelEconomy.gov website with numbers that I find to be surprisingly low after my time spent driving the new midsized sedan.
