Frankly, I am neither geek or Prius guy. I am a Jeep, Jaguar, BMW motorcycle guy. The Prius C I drive has not much in the way of styling, performance or general WOW factor of the vehicles I want to drive.
Having said that, I will add that I now drive approximately 5000 miles a month, city and highway. I'm a car nut but I have a Prius for pure economy. Gas is now hitting close to the $4 gallon mark. Maintenance costs are skyrocketing. Prius saves big time over other vehicles that look and handle better. Seriously, all the ECO/green cars are ugly and have their own detractors. Since not much seems to change, styling seems less important to hi mileage drivers and fleet owners, it looks like Toyota hybrids can be as ugly as a mud fence but have a market niche until another maker can match the mpg(honest) and dependability.
Higher mileage is more than a niche for them. They should remember the early VW success. Beauty didn't count...price and economical price drove sales. Just sayin'
