I had the same response regarding my 2007 HHR from my purchasing dealer. After 3 EPS repairs under the recall and the ignition repaired, the dealer said the steering column was the problem and it was not covered under the recall. ($120 for that diagnosis) Recently took it the other dealer in town, replaced steering column, DUH power steering problem not resolved.
