I just had this problem start on my 2014 F 150 5ltr with 80,000 while I was pulling a travel trailer in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State on the way home. It would stiffen up with right and left turns and on some tight curves. Luckily, made it home safely, but the problem still persists even without load. Called dealership and they are thinking it is the steering column. Have an appointment on Thursday with Nemer Ford Service in Queensbury, NY. I am bringing this article with me. I bought this truck from them in January of 2015 as a 2014 leftover. I will want to see proof that they did the work from recall before I buy their story of the steering column u joints.
