Less than 7" of ground clearance, and AWD is optional ...

Yeah, that's an SUV, all right.

Don't get me wrong - it's a great car for urban and suburban people, where off-roading means you're driving down a gravel road. But taking it up into the mountains on dirt trails - don't make me laugh.

Based upon the way this was reported by Motor Trend, it sounds like it came down to the Outback or the CR-V for winner, and it wasn't a clear and obvious choice.
