Hi John, can appreciate your feelings about the matter. If I had to pay for my tranny replacement, I'd be of a whole different mindset. I know you will have a hard time believing this, but my parents had a Accord, I think a mite newer than yours, had about 130,000 miles when my Mom got stranded because the tranny gave out, Honda replaced the tranny free of charge. No doubt it is a blemish, or as in your case, scar against Honda's reputation.
