The new Explorer is now on a car chassis. It's the same basic platform as the segment D old Ford Freestyle, updated with many improvements from the current Taurus and development in the Explorer program. Exploring new uses hydroformed front frame rails to help reduce the front overhang while improving crashworthiness. There is a new agreement before the phalanges and braces to help increase the width of the track. The rear suspension was completely redesigned with new joints, axles and wheel bearings are more resistant as well.
