Google is so inaccurate. I'm a Ford employee and have family that have been with FMC 35 years, and two of them are in tight with top brass, and they have not gotten any info on a new GT500 other than we will not see it till Nov 2017 as an 18' model. The next mustang for 2017 is a MACH 1, with 465-480 hp and some GT350 but and pieces, along with a very MACH 1 style hood with twin scoops, and rear wing. The GT350 took the void left by the BOSS. The GT500 is more subdued and stealthy. A new GT500 will be the same. A MACH 1 is kinda in-your-face like the BOSS.... What is also not certain, is if the Trinity 5.8 SC V8 will come back, (it was a stout, bucket proof engine), with turbos on it or a beefed up 5.9 with twin turbos.... The Voodoo 5.2 V8 in the GT350 is to new to put into a GT500 with much power, and has no proven its reliability, whereas, the old 5.8 Trinity was just a bore and stroke of the old tried and true 5.4. Ford would be darn right stupid to put an unproven engine in their KING. Even though the GT350 model has been the more expensive, genuine Shelby, whereas the GT500 is not a genuine Shelby, being built on regular assembly line with the bread and butter 5.0. My dealer last GT350 from 2013 sold for $77k, msrp was $72k. Our last GT500 was a base model with a $54K msrp, and sold in mid 2015 for $49K, new. The Trinity 5.8 is good for a safe 800 hp supercharged, with 14 psi, and a upgraded intercooler, oil cooler. The new 2015- current Coyote 5.0 is stronge than the old Roadrunner BOSS 5.0, and good for 900+ crank hp. So we shall see where this goes.
