Citroën adds 100% electric C-ZERO to its MultiCity vehicle-for-hire program
Citroën, which began offering a vehicle-for-hire service called MultiCity in Paris in February, has added the 100% electric C-Zero to its fleet.
The Citroën C-Zero, which is a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric vehicle that will arrive in the United States next year, offers Parisian motorists electric mobility under the MultiCity program at the rate of €35 for half a day.
Citroën's MultiCity program is Web-based and also acts as a mini travel agency: connecting travellers to their final destination through any mode of transport available, including trams, buses, planes, etc. The site will calculate price, travel time, and carbon-dioxide emissions to assist the traveller in choosing the best route.
Citroën MultiCity can even act as a concierge of sorts by scheduling train and airplane reservations, and owners of Citroën cars can use MultiCity to update their navigation systems.
The Citroën C-Zero, like the i-MiEV, is a four-door, four-seater hatchback with a 64hp electric motor mounted behind the rear seat driving the rear wheels. It has a range of 90 miles and can be charged in six hours by a household socket.
