Think about this : a gas station typically has 8 to 20 gas pumps, each capable of completely refueling a gas powered car in about 4 minutes or less. A Tesla charger can refuel an electric to 80% in about half an hour. So the typical gas station can refuel probably 12 times more cars than this "huge" Tesla Supercharger station. There are more than a million gas pumps in this country. And now the oil companies (Shell, the first) are buying charger companies t install CCS chargers in their gas stations, the CCS protocol being what most automakers (and shortly all, except Tesla) will use for charging.
The Tesla station (with its 120 KW charger lines) being outdone by the CCS 350 and 500KW stations being built by Porsche, able to recharge their electric in less than half the time
