The concept is great and the vehicle is needed to round out their line-up and retain customers that grow out of the Outback. However, they always seem to miss the little things. 1) Ambient lighting, w/19 cup holders will you be able to actually see them at night? Is the glove box illuminated? 2) Folding mirrors - pretty much a standard now, it should have been a no-brainer on the two higher trim levels; 3) Panoramic roof doesn't appear to be tinted - which literally creates a greenhouse effect. I like my Forester XT but I bake in that car when I want to open the panel and expose the light in the summer. Lastly, I didn't hear anything about driving select modes. I like the Ascent but the exterior styling cues could have been a little bolder and there are still minor upgrades with the interior that should have been addressed. They are playing in a market that pays attention to those details and so should they. I expect the Ascent to sell like hotcakes nonetheless and I do applaud Subaru for getting it right this time (versus the Tribeca debacle).
