I have always owned GM products. So the difficulty of comparing is unique to me. Two of my friends have owned the Tacoma, and after 8 years they got rid of them. They both said they got great use from them. So I let them drive my Canyon and Colorado. They were so impressed with the power, towing, and mileage they both bought a Colorado ZR2. My Colorado is a ZR2. My Canyon is more a road trip vehicle with the long box. Both are diesel powered. My Canyon gets 32 MPG on the road. The ZR2 gets 30 MPG on the road. Love them both. Drawbacks., getting in is a little tough. Diesel fuel is gone way up on price which is a rip off. For my 90 year old parents, they have ample room. I give them a 5 star rating. So as I said, I have always bought GM products and I always will.
