IMHO Honda started losing it's way when it came out with the 2003 Honda Accord. The Accord got a lot a flack for the back end styling. It looked liked about a foot of the rear quater-panel was cut off. To add insult to injury it was plagued with what should shave been a transmission recall in 2003-4. I know because I owned a Accord 2004.
To even add even more insult to injury Honda did little to help buyers of the 2003 & 2004 Accord owners fix the problem. I personally when through dealing with my Honda dealer and Honda of America in reaching some compromise in fixing what was a manufactures defect and a safety issue. Honda of America did little to help me fix my transmission problem.
So after buying 3 Honda vehicles I'm all done with them. I also talked my son out of buying a Honda CRV.
Honda messed up with coming out with the Ridgeline, CR-Z,Crosstour,Element,Odyssey(looks like a Hearst) and getting rid of the S2000 etc. etc. Honda's design department, engineering and marketing have all really lost their way. I no longer see them as a real competitor in today's automotive market. What we have here is another GM in the makings.
