I own a 2017 Fusion and bought it soley because I got a great deal on it and zero percent interest. My previous volvo s60 was faling apart at 70k miles so it had to go. I didn't think I would enjoy the fusion with its less potent 1.5 turbo but it does good and even though the styling is out dated from 2014 it still looks good. If Ford put the same thought and attention into the fusion and focus as they did with the F150 it would be a world class car easy to do stay on par with Honda. Fords sedan failure was do to a lack of attention and an idiot CEO. Better interior quality, more efficient engines with 8spd trans like that of toyota and honda would do it wonders. I would be a buyer for that Fusion. The Fusion sport was lack luster. Just a carry over car with an f150 engine a base line awd system. No real thought there. I'll keep this car until for a few more years but I hope Ford revives a sedan because I will not buy a honda or toyota. We already have a ford cuv and I hate them. An all electric ford sedan...say the Galaxy at a good price point that gets 250 to 300 miles on a charge with good performance would be fantastic but Ford seems to be stuck on the SUV brigade. The truck/suv trend will fall after the streets are polluted with them. When the competition ramps up, prices will fall and they will lose their shine for buyers. It'll happen. Looks at the current muscle car trend. Horrid numbers compared to a decade ago and they can only do so much to them aka more power and new packages before they out price them from their current customer base.....just saying.
