Rodomel I appreciate your
Rodomel I appreciate your comment. In one sentence you bring up a lot of issues that need context, explanation, and addressing. Mindful and respectful that we have readers from other parts of the world who read these comments also, please keep these things in mind:
-The only car brand that probably will ever have its name on a charging network, given its own designated space, and considered standalone, is Tesla.
-IONITY is the largest charging network in the world. It is larger than Tesla worldwide. To save money car companies formed alliances for their electric products. IONITY is a mega partnership with founding members Ford, BMW, VW Group, and Daimler.
-The reason you don’t see IONITY branded stations is because charging infrastructure is set up differently than gas stations. You don;t look for these things in garages and parking lots.
-What we need to do is get big oil to get over themselves to get charging stations in gas stations, that’s were consumers will connect.
-To be fair to Daimler, the Mercedes I showed you above is still in prototype one year away from a target production date. There’s many more protos to come, and still plenty of time for changes.
-The lines that draw what is an American and non-American branded car are now completely blurrred. Even the US Dept of Transportation at times wasn’t sure which car to tariff and which ones not to. GM is heavily foreign invested but so is Daimler. After 2025 most GM electrics will be designed in a studio in China. Most Mercedes vans are and soon most Mercedes electrics will made here in the USA. Both companies have thousands of loyal Americans here at home in the States working for them.We are invested in them and they are invested in us.
-If I was ordered to pull out my gun and shoot either company I’d reholster. I wouldn’t know which one to shoot. They both love us for who we are.
