Mid-Engine Chevrolet Corvette Beautifully Rendered by a Korean Studio
General Motors has yet to formally acknowledge the existence of a mid-engine Corvette project, but spy shots and videos from all over the world prove that the automaker is working on something with a mid-engine chassis layout. It is widely believed that this mysterious sports car will be the next generation of the Chevrolet Corvette and many people expect that this car – which is rumored to be completely replacing the traditional front-engine layout – will make its grand debut at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Kool K Sung Studio in Korea also believes that the car that we all believe to be the mid-engine Corvette will be the next Chevy supercar, so the artist took the many spy shots and videos and created an undisguised rendering of the C8 Corvette. KKSStudio has a selection of what the artist calls “naked spyshots” and his Corvette is terrific, possibly revealing the C8 Corvette before GM has even talked about the car.
Mid-Engine Corvette
If you have followed the trail of spy shots and videos of what we believe to be the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette, this artwork should be familiar. By using what he can see in the images and videos floating around the internet, he was able to effectively remove the camouflage and completed the areas unseen in the online footage.
The result is a great-looking sports car that could be the next generation Corvette. It has big vents up front and along the side, with those side openings likely feeding the mid-mounted V8 engine. It is distinctly designed with the past lines of the Corvette in mind, even though the front end is much shorter and the rear area is much longer, as the vehicle’s proportions are shifted with the relocation of the engine.
Again, this is only a piece of artwork depicting what one Korean artist expects from the mid-engine Corvette, but from what we have seen in spy shots, the real thing could like just like the picture above.
