Great comparison!
I used to own a 2015 WRX Premium. Even though not a hatchback, I was able to put my full size mountain bike in the back with removing the front tire. I also owned a 2013 Veloster Turbo. I could put my bike in the back ad well. I had to move the passenger seat full forward.

The WRX WAS fun. I'd get a little clash shifting into second gear and the ride was very stiff.

Problem with Veloster fuel cut under acceleration.
