Problem battery replaced at dealer for under $400 about 3 or so years ago due to needing continuous charges in very cold weather. My Pruis is a 2006 with 80,000 miles on it. While driving my Pruis recently it refused to pick up beyond 28 miles per hour until something kicked while driving a bit. Also the pick up was weak on hills. Also my triangle light and a series of other lights went on when the pick up became a problem.. A diagnostic tool said my engine was good but the ABS system was the problem. After driving the car a few days...the car no longer has pick up problems...the ride is smooth. But a repair shop says I need a new hybrid battery. Can you help me understand what is happening? The repair shop said the battery was dieing and would cause other problems in the car. I would be most greatful if you could explain to me the meaning of all this. Thank you..
