Last C7 Corvette To Be Built Has Just Sold For $2.7 Million Dollars!
Most of the decisions anyone makes right now about the C7 Corvette are all very heavily influenced by the fact that the C8 Corvette is going to be announced and shown to the public very soon. With that said, you wouldn't expect to be seeing a C7 Corvette selling for almost 3 million dollars, right? Well... One just did. It was actually at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction where the final price struck 2.7 million for the last C7 Corvette Z06 to be produced. The auction actually was for a great case and 100% of the proceeds will go towards The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation which honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001.
What Exactly Was Sold?
On June 28th 2019 the very last C7 Corvette Z06 was sold as a collectible of sorts. Due to it being the final C7 of its type produced it is likely to have a value higher than a "regular" Z06. Outside of this Z06 being the final one produced there is nothing special about it. The car itself is identical to one you could have purchased a year ago with the same options but there has always been a desire to own the first or last of any Corvette generation, and in this case it cost 2.7 million dollars to do so.
I, personally, applaud auctions like this. The funds, from what will be a special car to the buyer, go on to help other people in need. It doesn't get much more "human" than that. This is really quite a special way to send the 7th generation Corvette off into the sunset. The buyer gets a special car all while people in need get their assistance as well. Now that this current Corvette generation has come to an end we can all wait in suspense for that July 18th reveal of the C8 Corvette!
