Your next step could be an EV. They are town cars, incapable of medium- or long-distance travel due to a lack of charging infrastructure and battery limitations. But our Chevy Bolt can handle 200-mile round trips on a full charge, 150-180 miles in cold weather. The coolest part of EV ownership is maintenance: tires, brakes, A/C and the cabin air filter is all there is. No oil changes, belts, transmission fluid or coolant. We keep a Toyota van around for medium-length trips and cargo transport. For longer trips, rentals cost less per mile than using your own vehicle.
