Quite old comments, but as I bought a MINI SE, I can maybe impart a little information. The real world city range (with 20-30% freeway) is 150miles. That is what I am currently getting, so it is not a guess. Now I would suggest you don't use all the battery each charge cycle - maybe recharge around 120 to be kinder to the battery. The range is still there if you need it though. With off street parking/charging you can have another 150 miles tomorrow. Anyone who commutes 150+ miles each day in the city (and can't charge at the other end) probably won't be able to use the MINI (30 mins charge gets about 80% battery on 50kW). Whatever you do, don't listen to the EPA range - nobody can get that bad a range unless you are driving around a track, or up the mountain to the ski fields.
