I was told the same thing when they examined my Corolla and was told originally that they would only be repainting the hood. they finally scheduled the appointment to do the job many, many months and many phone calls later, but in all fairness to the dealer this was all occurring during COVID lockdown. When I brought the car into them and left it for the repainting, they called back the next day and said they had decided to repaint the entire car "except for the plastic parts".
