I totally agree. I don't like FULL EV, you have a huge battery of 500kg and you need to plan trips for charging station. if you make a mistake, nobody can bring you gas, you have to wait at stations, and people in apartment cannot charge.
Also you rely on two possible source of energy which is better. With PHEV, the battery is lightweight compared to full ev vehicle (1/5 of weight), and is less expensive to replace. Also the gas engine is still strong for the winter and acceleration. if there is electricity shortage, there is a huge chance you have plenty of gas in your tank to go to the next city and fill the tank fully and go to work and charge at work. with PHEV you can do 95% of what you can do with full EV plus advantage of filling the tank in 2 min everywhere even in the most lost city in the world, there is a gas station. I don't buy their wrong advertisement of the full EV. don't fall into it. also the gas will become less expensive in the future with more electric car, and city will have difficulty to provide the energy so electricity will increase. Having both sources give you the choice.
