The EV magazines say this is a step backward for Toyota as they already had an EV and are going to be bringing out EVs with solid-state batteries soon after GM in 2023. But if we all remember these are transitional vehicles....first hybrids, then PHEVs, and then finally "green" vehicles (EVs). Right now my two neighbors and I only have an EV and with almost 300 miles on a charge on my Bolt, I find my daily commutes are much less than that.
