6.11.2020 I would recommend everyone who has a recalled vehicle (re:the fuel pump) request a rental as Toyota has stated one will be furnished due to this fuel pump recall - that way.the fix for all may happen sooner. I finally went to dealer and dropped off my 2018 Highlander and picked up a rental. I have been blessed to manage without the need of a rental since Carfax notified me of the recall mid January. Enough is enough though and it is no longer reasonable to try and work out use of another car on my own when I need to go on the highway. I will gladly have Toyota pay for a rental until my vehicle is fixed. No..it is not as nice as my own vehicle but the rental will allow me freedom to take high speed roads until the fix is done. I was told by Toyota USA and by my dealership that though subject to change late June is a truly realistic target date for the fix to begin. First time a date has been verbalized.
