I used my Forester for a 6 week trek across the southwest. I used black flexible fabric window shades for the front two windows and purchased a rechargeable battery fan that clips to my steering wheel. I cracked each window about an inch and ran the fan at night. Gave me great air circulation and I could recharge the fan during the day while I was driving. CAVEAT: Use a towel under the fan clip, as I damaged the steering wheel cover slightly with the clips.
