Subaru Issues COVID-19 Statement-Gives Special Financing For Customers
Subaru of America President and CEO, Tom Doll issued a statement yesterday concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting the Camden, N.J. automaker. He says they are committed to the health and safety of its employees, dealers, and communities first and foremost. Doll says all employees are encouraged to work remotely and no-one will go unpaid for time away from work.
The Camden, N.J. automaker will continue to provide new Subaru vehicles to its U.S. customers. “As the landscape changes each day, you can depend on us to do whatever is within our power to continue serving our Subaru family,” Doll said in the statement.
Subaru Indiana Automotive (SIA), the U.S. plant where the automaker produces the 2020 Outback, Ascent, Impreza, and Legacy will shut down temporarily, suspending production from March 23-29. SIA sent two employees home after coming into contact with a person carrying the Coronavirus virus last week. One engine assembly line was shut down and the area was immediately disinfected. SIA says no employees have tested positive for the virus.
Subaru offers special financing
Subaru is also offering customers special financing during this difficult time. Customers can get zero-percent financing for an extended 63 months on all 2020 Forester, Outback, Ascent, Impreza, and Legacy models now through April 30, 2020. Subaru is offering 0.9 percent financing on all 2020 Crosstrek models, 2020 WRX, WRX STI, and BRZ sport coupe models also through April 30, 2020.
Subaru’s sales streak could come to an end
Subaru of America has seen an industry-best 11 straight years of sales record in-a-row and is hoping for its 12th year in 2020, but that could come to an end. Tom Doll believes its success of 11 consecutive years of record sales comes from being more than a car company. In its corporate statement in December, Subaru promised four things beyond building quality all-wheel-drive vehicles. Subaru says they are committed to diversity, volunteerism, green initiatives, and giving back to local communities.
