There's a lot that no one has considered. I can't count how many times I had an elderly or disabled person who couldn't climb up the steps to get in the truck. I have seen people fall out of the truck because they were careless or drunk. Over the years, I have had several drunken customers puke in the truck. (That's why tow trucks shouldn't have carpeting.) I have often worried about having female riders, to the point that I was considering installing a couple of cameras in the cab pointing at the passenger. People are crazy. And as someone else mentioned previously, when people break down, they get angry, and blame us and abuse us for all their problems. No passengers in the truck is the only way to go.
