I wouldn't dare compare this engine with the ford ecoboost engine. I had a 2.3 mazdaspeed 3 w/ that POS ford engine and can tell you that this is a different animal. I agree that only time will tell, but My Outback wilderness is incredibly strong and fast at 15K miles whereas I had to have the smoking turbo in the MS3 replaced by 17K miles. I did buy an extended warranty just in case, but so far it's been reliable.
