I own a Tesla Model 3, 2019,
I own a Tesla Model 3, 2019, and a Toyota Pruis Prime Plug-In Hybrid, 2017. I drive both and my insurance for the Tesla is $200 cheaper than for the Prius per year, both have the same coverage. The older Prius has 105K miles on it and the newer, costlier, Tesla has 26K miles. We alternate between the two, but usually use the Tesla for long drives, 'tho before we got the Tesla the Prius was our only car. The Tesla is also lower in maintenance and fuel costs than the Prius. The cost of charging didn't make much of bump in my electric bill and later I put in solar power. Now I run my house free and drive for free too due to the solar. I still have to buy gas and oil changes for the Prius. The tires last many miles on the Prius, possibly about 70 < 75K miles, and the Tesla will probably ned new tires at about 40 < 45K miles and they cost more. So, not enough time to sort out all the costs and savings for maintenance, but, by doing my own little tune-ups, I'm guessing they will be very close in total ownership costs.
