I just had the tires changed on my Tesla at 30k, as you stated. However, one thing that you’re overlooking is that the warranty on the tires is twice that. So tires will only cost half of the full price, according to the guy at Discount Tires.

I’ve read that tire manufacturers are working hard to develop tires for EVs, with their greater weight and faster (and more tempting!) acceleration. So hopefully this differentiator will be a thing of the past.
