The Crosstrek is indeed selling well but the Outback is not suffering due to competition from the Ascent, it's more that a lot of long time Outback customers are super displeased with the infotainment screen setup. Very unintuitive and just plain harder to use than the last generation, especially for older consumers, things like climate control are just ridiculous.
