I just found this article. We have a 2016 Outback and our VIN is not covered but I believe it should be. We are about to replace our windshield for the third time because of a crack that started at the base of the windshield on the right side We contacted Subaru the first two times, they refused to replace the windshield stating it was due to a rock hitting the windshield even though there was no clear impact from a rock. It's incredibly coincidental and truly impossible that a rock hit our windshield in the exact same area 3 times.
