2022 Toyota RAV4 Release Date and Details
This time of year is big for many car buyers for many different reasons. You see, in the fall, we typically begin seeing new model year vehicles at our favorite dealerships.
We get to learn what vehicles will be staying the same, will be slightly refreshed, or will be completely redesigned.
For Toyota this is true as well. The 2022 Camry has a cool new (returning) color for Camry TRD. In 2022 4Runner will receive several new feature updates. New changes and upgrades for 2022 Tacoma. And soon, we will learn specifics on next-gen Tundra.
But Jeff, you did not mention 2022 RAV4.
2022 Toyota RAV4 Release Date
During the worst automotive inventory crunch since the wildly popular “cash for clunkers” promotion, predicting release dates and vehicle supply levels is challenging. To say the least.
We just do not know what to expect. Thanks to COVID-related production shutdowns, computer chip and parts shortages, along with other international logistical challenges. This situation is frustrating for manufacturers, for dealerships, and especially for consumers.
However, I do know we are expected to see the first signs of 2022 RAV4 at dealerships starting sometime in November. This could mean the beginning or the end. I guess that also means it could be the middle of November as well.
When to Order 2022 RAV4
Normally prospective buyers can begin ordering incoming model year vehicles about one month prior to launch.
In other words, you may be able to ask your local Toyota salesperson to work with you on building your ideal RAV4 beginning around “Octoberish” time. Could be a little sooner. The magic 8-ball says, “ask me again later.”
2022 Toyota RAV4 Changes
Toyota RAV4 was last redesigned for the 2019 model year. This would put the 2022 RAV4 at 3 years mid-cycle.
Too soon for a next-gen RAV4 redesign.
What we do not know yet is whether 2022 Toyota RAV4 will see a mild refresh. I would guess no but details are currently unsurprisingly missing. Toyota is notorious for keeping things close to the vest until the right time.

We may see new features added. There may be new paint colors. Perhaps a new trim level. For now, this is just plain old guesswork on my part.
Time for your Toyota RAV4 Comments
The Toyota RAV4 is still the nation’s top-selling small SUV. Buyers and owners have found RAV4 to be reliable, stylish, full of technology and safety, and capable of producing solid miles per gallon numbers.
Of course, Toyota RAV4 world is made up of gasoline-powered RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle).
So many choices.
