They have not made a car since April, yet workers (white and blue collar) want to file bankruptcy and bring the company down.
What have these workers done the last 5 months? Not one car built. Yes, maybe some of the jobs may go to China, but BMW has been making the 3 and 5 series there for almost 4 years and is doubling production next year (they do a very fine job of keeping this a secret).
Saab was just sold, and though behind in making functional, yes, they are behind, but, they have the best cars ever at this time.
A 9-5 blows a BMW 5 SERIES away at 15K less (do not look at MSRP, this is one thing Saab must fix, for they loose on line shoppers and they never get in the cars).
I would not bankrupt my own company, Saab 9-3 is better than a Jetta, Camry, Altima, and this is their price point. It is not the BMW 3 series, and Saab has to get it's list price down so the dealers stop making large spreads, unless there is another dealer in town. Go on line, you can get a Saab for 3-8K off, since the early 1990's, you will not get a entry level 3 series for 24K, with the options a 9-3 comes with standard.
