My daughter totalled her 2018 Crosstrek Premium. The insurance company paid $30,531 after $1000 deductible. Her 2022 Crosstrek Premium cost $33,348 (all taxes, registration, fees, etc). The new car has even more safety features. This article only discusses price. My daughter was run off the road into a row of trees, down a very steep ditch. When she hit the trees, the car spun 180° with so much force it blew out the windows. She had her 12 year old Chihuahua in the front seat in a harness, attached to the seat belt inside a padded carrier. They both walked away from the accident unharmed after a passerby stopped and got the crushed back door open so she could stand on the bar between the seats to crawl out.
We didn't even consider replacing the car with anything else but another Subaru.
