"Subaru Corporation needs to shift manufacturing of the Forester and Crosstrek to its U.S. plant in Lafayette, Indiana." To that I say, NO THANK YOU.
Do you think it's just a coincidence that the Forester and Crosstrek (both built in Japan) are the most reliable Subaru models (according to CR) whereas the less reliable Assent, Outback, and Impreza are built in Indiana? The Crosstrek and the Impreza are basically the same car, yet there were substantial quality issues with the current Impreza when it first came out. The Assent has never been reliable. I will gladly wait for my new Forester to come over on a boat from Japan.
