I'm sorry but on a brand new vehicle that you just took off the lot. You need to go through a break in period (1,000 miles recommended). After that point do your 1st oil change because you'll be surprised at the amount of small metal shavings you will find within that oil. If you wait for 10,000 miles your just letting those shavings stay inside and circulate through the system. After that I would stay at every 5,000 miles or 6 months. Because after 5 months or 6 months the oil will start breaking down. I learned this from a toyota technician that had 30 years in the business.
