On my '21 Highlander with 34K miles on it , and before the severe cold hit, I noticed a 3" crack on the lower drivers side of my windshield. I had been using the wiper heater as it was snowing while out Christmas shopping. With the severe cold the next day, we went nowhere for 24 hours. Got in the car and it was 2' longer running across to the passenger side. No trauma to the windshield before hand. This car is garage kept, our fourth Toyota, the eighth in the family and never a cracked windshield randomly or from trauma. Replacements are around $1000
