Hi Steve! The Sorento PHEV can only accept 240V at 16 amps and ~ 3.7kW max, so no, unfortunately it cannot use the 350kW chargers. In fact I believe there are only two PHEVs that can use level 3/480V chargers, and both of those are limited to ~50kW max speed (which is adequate considering neither has a very large battery). Those two PHEVs are: the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (the 2023 model has a 20 kWh battery) and the BMW i3 REX model (which is no longer manufactured). Fast charging for the Sorento PHEV means putting gasoline in it. If you’re interested, the new Kia Sportage PHEV (slightly smaller than the Sorento) can charge in approximately half the time that the Sorento can (it can charge at a higher average and kW rating), which means it can fill it’s battery (same capacity as the Sorento PHEV) in about 2 hours. Regarding your fuel economy in hybrid mode, if you might want a few tips, here’s how I get better efficiency out of the Sorento PHEV in hybrid mode: 1. try to drive the speed limit (within 3 MPH above or below is my target). 2. accelerate as evenly and smoothly as possible and try to coast as often as possible (experiment with a little “pulse and glide” technique, or easing up/taking your foot off the accelerator on flat stretches and gentle downhills). 3. Add a few extra PSI to your tires, brake as gently as possible, and if the weather is cool (but not genuinely cold) try using the heated seats and or dressing warmly instead of using the cabin heat (as it will force the gas engine on). Cheers!
