Toyota Camry is doing just fine for itself. Camry has been the best-selling midsize sedan in America for 20 consecutive years.

That is two full decades.

And in a crowded field of midsize cars for buyers to decide on, this is a monumental accomplishment.

But when will Camry receive a redesign? A big clue may have been uncovered with the release of 2023 Camry details.

And the omission of this huge upgrade.

2023 Toyota Camry Review

Toyota announced last month the refreshed 2023 Camry Nightshade. It is available in SE front-wheel drive, SE all-wheel drive, and SE Hybrid.

I recently had the opportunity to review this new 2023 Camry at Toyota Headquarters. Spoiler alert: you may really like the combination of 19-inch matte-bronze finished wheels with new color Reservoir Blue.

Pretty cool upgrade.

There is one feature, though, I was sure Camry would include as part of a refresh update. It was not.
In fact, 2023 Venza is getting it, 2023 Highlander got it, 2023 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid are showing it off, and the 2023 Corolla family will have it.

A new multimedia system.

2023 Camry Multimedia

Toyota Audio Multimedia is being rolled out across the Toyota lineup. Several popular Toyota models are either equipped with it or will be equipped with it this model year.

Next-gen 2022 Tundra has this new multimedia system. The new 2023 Sequoia has it as well. Plus, as I said, the 2023 RAV4 and Highlander and Corolla and Venza are getting it.

But not Camry 2023.

Look for modern graphics, improved speeds, more conversational voice commands, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and many more functions and capabilities with Toyota Audio Multimedia. And, of course, larger multimedia touch screens as well.

So, why hold it back from Toyota Camry?

Must be time for a new body style.

2024 Toyota Camry Release Date

I do not have any insider information, but it makes sense that we will be seeing a 9th generation Camry for the 2024 model year.

We have been with 8th-gen Camry since 2018 model year, and that feels like a long time considering the competitive midsize sedan segment.

Of course, a new generation of Toyota Camry will bring with it new exterior and interior styling, a modernized interior cabin, potentially new powertrain options, and plenty of new technology and safety.

I, for one, cannot wait to see what next-gen Toyota Camry has in store for its fans.
