Owners Reveal Their “Real-World” Toyota Sienna Hybrid MPG – Shocking

We hear from people who own Toyota Sienna Hybrid about their real-world gas mileage.

Are hybrids worth it?

This is quite an intriguing question and one that could branch off into many different directions with several different types of answers.

But how would this relate to the current generation Toyota Sienna hybrid – either 2021 Sienna or 2022 Sienna?

Toyota minivan owners have had the last two model years to evaluate this current generation Sienna hybrid.
Released as a hybrid-only minivan, Toyota Sienna really raised the bar in this highly competitive market.

For example, a 2022 Toyota Sienna is available either in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Posted Sienna fuel numbers are 35mpg combined for AWD and 36mpg combined for FWD.

Pretty impressive numbers for a family road trip vehicle. Add that to the fact that Sienna is known for being smooth, quiet, comfortable, versatile, and reliable and you might have a winning formula for strong consideration.

What do actual Toyota Sienna owners really get for real-world miles per gallon, though?

Owners Comment on 2022 Sienna MPG

A recent post caught my eye in the “Toyota Sienna Owners Club” forum on Facebook. This group consists of more than 15,000 Toyota Sienna owners, fans, and enthusiasts.

A simple question was asked. “Are the hybrids worth it? What mpg are you getting?”

Jessica commented. “AWD. 28-29mpg in dead of winter in Upstate NY. 36-38mpg in summer.”

Derrell reported his Sienna mpg range. “30-36 all the time. Eco mode.”

Jimmy offered. “Yes. Consistent 33mpg and my wife drives like a NASCAR driver.” Just remember, Jimmy, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”

“Consistently 33 mph. No highway driving at all. We live in a rural area.” Added Shannon.

“We are getting 32-35mpg.” Commented Bob.

Julie said she is getting “36”.

“35, I also drive a bit fast. Great ride.” Nothing wrong with a fast Toyota Sienna Jan.

Brooke remarked. “34 in winter (Mid-Atlantic region), 38-39 in Summer.”

“35's with awd has been amazing. Sometimes 38 on a road trip.” Stated John.

Clint shared his Sienna fuel economy. “Depends on time of year. Upper 20s in winter (live in northern lower MI) low to mid 30s in summer. AWD.”
