RAV4 Hybrid Was Toyota’s Best-Selling Hybrid for First 3 Quarters of 2022. You Will Not Believe Second Place
Toyota Motor North America released sales figures for both September and for the first three quarters of 2022. The results were quite eye-opening.
2022 Toyota RAV4 2023 RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition - Midnight Black
Toyota RAV4 Hybrid remained at the top of the sales leader board, and it was not even by a close margin. For all of 2022 (first three quarters), RAV4 Hybrid sold 124,153 total units.
Most people will not be surprised by this. RAV4 Hybrid is incredibly dependable, has 219 total horsepower, achieves 40 miles per gallon combined, and has nice versatility and ride comfort. Plus, look for 2023 RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition coming this year as well.
2022 Toyota Sienna
When Toyota launched the 2021 Toyota Sienna as an all-hybrid minivan, it was considered a bit of a risk. To not offer a fully gasoline-powered choice could have turned many customers away.
Fortunately, this gamble paid off. The 2022 Sienna is very popular, and customers are buying them as fast (or even wanting them faster) than they are being built. A total of 49,630 total Sienna minivans have found their way to driveways so far this year.
This is good enough for second place behind Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
And with the ongoing (and frustrating) worldwide vehicle shortage, there is a pretty long wait list to get a Toyota Sienna Hybrid in most locations around the country. I have no doubt Toyota would have sold many more Sienna vehicles if they were readily available.

The top five best-selling Toyota hybrid vehicles for the first three quarters of 2022 are as follows: RAV4 Hybrid 124,153, Sienna hybrid 49,630, Camry Hybrid 33,104, Highlander Hybrid 31,787, and Venza hybrid 23,131.
Time for Your Toyota RAV4 Comments
In spite of the continuing shortage, there is a lot to look forward to on the horizon for both Toyota and Lexus electrified vehicles. I think Toyota Motor North America executive Jack Hollis sums things up nicely.
“While our teams and dealers continue to face on-going challenges, taking care of our customers and their needs remains a top priority,” said Jack Hollis, executive vice president, Sales, TMNA. “Through the end of 2022, customers can expect even more electrified options in showrooms from both brands including four new Corolla hybrid grades, the all-new Toyota Crown with two hybrid options, and the all-new Lexus RX with available hybrid.”
For me, I cannot wait to see how Toyota Crown drives, and I am excited to see an expanding Corolla Hybrid lineup.
