Yes, same issue. After much internet sleuthing, I acted on a recommendation to contact Subaru of America. They ultimately agreed to cover the repair ($1,500) and authorized my local dealer to order and install a replacement unit.

The kicker… apparently this is such a widespread problem (I’m surprised it hasn’t made recall status), that the unit is back ordered anywhere from 3 months minimum up to 1+ years. I’ve been waiting 2 months so far. Will keep everybody posted.
