Just one final comment for me. the job is fairly straight forward if you are an experienced auto technician. it will take a little bit if time and tools. the head must be sent to a machine shop to be checked and most likely serviced. the is normal and you could find yourself needing to find a replacement if it is damaged. If you really like your car and it is in otherwise decent shape, it's probably worth fixing. it could be worse, you could have a Lexus with the same engine needing a head gasket. yes, it is the same.
