Exactly! It makes so much sense until we advance batteries another generation or two. Instead of these huge packs needed for large heavy full-size trucks, a pack giving 30 miles of EV range (so maybe 20-25kWh or so), and getting the truck about 30% better MPG in hybrid mode would be a game changer.
