Meet The New Subaru Brat Wilderness Pickup - You Can Only Look And Not Touch

Would you buy a compact 2024 Subaru Brat Wilderness if Subaru of America offered it? Or would a midsize four-door Subaru Baja Wilderness be a better choice? You make the pick.

Subaru of America still needs one new all-wheel-drive pickup to complete its all-wheel-drive lineup. Would you choose a new compact 2024 Brat Wilderness pickup or a midsize Baja Wilderness pickup?

The smaller Brat Wilderness or, the larger Baja Wilderness would be a big success for Subaru of America. Or better yet, why not build both trims?

Subaru of New England recently put the image of the Baja Wilderness on its Instagram page, saying, "You asked, we delivered." Of course, it was just an April fool's joke earlier this year, but the truth is often spoken in jest.

If only it were true. Subaru of New England said, "Introducing the all-new 2024 Baja Wilderness. Equipped with a 260 horsepower turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine, 9.2" of ground clearance, standard all-wheel drive, and up to 75 cubic feet of cargo space, the Subaru Baja Wilderness has everything you need for off-road adventures. So where will the 2024 Baja Wilderness take you?"

We found two Baja Wilderness images on Instagram showing the compact Brat Wilderness that would be a fun ride to play in the dirt.

The Subaru Brat pickup would be the hot new model to impact U.S. customers this year significantly. The image below from Battle Wagon Gang represents a desirable 2024 Subaru Brat Wilderness trim level. It's what outdoor enthusiasts want and what Subaru of America needs.

Of course, the all-new 2024 Subaru Baja Wilderness or Brat Wilderness pickup would feature the brand's core values of safety, fun-to-drive, all-wheel-drive, fuel-efficient, a low center of gravity, and dual-function X-Mode for all-terrain capability. In addition, the new Baja pickup would be extra rugged and ready to go further off the grid.
Both pickups would take customers further off-road to play in the dirt this summer. But, it would also raise Subaru of America to new heights in sales and give the Camden, N.J. automaker the missing vehicle in its all-wheel-drive lineup.

We can imagine an all-new 2024 Brat Wilderness with a 2.5-liter Boxer engine that powers the 2024 Crosstrek and 2024 Impreza RS. It produces 182 horsepower and 178 ft lbs of torque. The 2024 Subaru Baja Wilderness would get the 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine producing 260 horsepower.

The Brat and Baja pickups would lead the segment with extra ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and underbody protection for off-roaders. Subaru wouldn't be able to build them fast enough.

Subaru's new dual-function X-Mode system would be a perfect fit and a big hit with customers with active lifestyles who want to go further off-road. In addition, because the Subaru Global Platform provides model flexibility between the Subaru of Indiana Automotive's assembly lines and the Subaru plant in Japan, the pickup truck could be built in the U.S. plant.

It could be manufactured on the same platform as the all-new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness trim level in Lafayette, Indiana. It would include the same suspension upgrades, all-terrain tires, more prominent wheel arch cladding, a metal front skid plate, unique hex-design LED fog lights, and an anti-glare hood decal in a matte-black finish. It would be everything you want in an off-road-ready compact and midsize pickup.

It's time for Subaru of America to launch an all-new 2024 Subaru Brat compact pickup and a Baja Wilderness midsize pickup for its U.S. customers and dive into the pickup market.
