Our red Mazda has chips all…
Our red Mazda has chips all over the car - both sides, front, hood, back, and even on roof. We live in Ohio, and we get that the front end and hood are going to get dinged from salt, stones falling from large trucks, and tires from cars in front of us kicking up debris. But the laws of physics in that respect do not explain the other body parts around the car. Our Mazda dealer told us that Mazda did acknowledge there was a recall for a defect with the Soul Red paint, but that our claim was too old to cover. Problem is, we were never notified of any recall (and yes, we checked our records). The dealer explained that the only people whose cars were repainted at Mazda's expense were those who complained about the chipping within a certain time range. So yes, there is a problem with the Soul Red. Mazda has acknowledged it but declined to make that known to its customers. I think that a defect is a defect, regardless of how old the car is, especially if the company responsible for the defect admits that it was a defect. Thank you
