I bought a 2016 Subaru BRZ…
I bought a 2016 Subaru BRZ and with only 2400 miles on it installed the Edelbrock eForce supercharger. With a custom tune and 93 octane I got 292 wheel HP on a 90 degree day. Put new 8" rims and same diameter tires, upgraded the brake pads and I've got the best daily driver and track car I'd ever want.
Until Subaru / Toyota ups the HP (to more like what I've got) the car is somewhat fun to drive but the awesome factor customers want & higher sales won't come til the HP goes up significantly. I know turbos are 'free' HP but having driven stock and both turboed and supercharged BRZ/86/FRS, the better daily driver (which is what most buyers are doing with the car) is the supercharged.
This is actually a very comfortable car to drive on long trips and so pleasingly nimble around town, although it's really only a two passenger car. I took out my rear seats and made a cargo shelf that still enables me to lay the seat back flat to expand the trunk... I actually DO carry four mounted tires, a floor jack, fuel and chair + cooler for track days in the car.
