7 Reasons Why You Should Wait For The Next-Gen Subaru WRX STI
As I wrote recently, performance enthusiasts have much to look forward to now that Subaru Corporation has recently filed for a patent for the "STe" (Subaru Tecnica electric) nameplate.
Subaru Tecnica International will evolve from building high-performance internal combustion (ICE) turbocharged Boxer horizontally-opposed engines to new eco-performance electric models.
Subaru Corporation has not given up on its performance division and racing partner, Subaru Tecnica International (STI). Subaru will return the WRX STI in an all-new, all-electric performance model called the STe.
Here are seven reasons why the new electric STI will be worth the wait.
1. The number one reason is more power.
The new Subaru performance STe will have impressive torque and be faster and quicker off the line than the last 2022 WRX STI. Performance fans will be surprised at the electric STe's power. Subaru won't have to worry about fuel mileage and emissions that currently limit the gas models.
2. Subaru has the STI E-RA.
Subaru Corporation and Subaru Tecnica International will use the 1073 horsepower all-electric STI E-RA high-performance sports car to develop its electric all-wheel-drive technology in the next-generation STe performance sports car. Are you ready for extreme power?

3. Subaru is ramping up its performance division.
Subaru Corporation has not given up on its performance division and racing partner, Subaru Tecnica International (STI). Subaru will return the WRX STI in an all-new, all-electric performance model called the STe.
4. More agile handling
Daisuke Tokano, general manager in charge of EV design, said the Sports Concept unveiled in Tokyo "Plays with possibilities for one of the future entries, a rallycross-styled sporty hatchback that evokes the vibe of a WRX. The short front and rear overhangs are envisioned as enabling dynamic car jumping and agile handling."
5. A unique design language
What will the new Subaru STe look like? Automotive News said that in the future, Subaru will engineer and design its EVs, and the company is working on a unique design language. The new electric STI won't look anything like the previous generation model.
6. Subaru Corporation has a new sheriff in town.
Subaru's new President and CEO, Atsushi Osaki, is shaking things up in a big way. It's good news for performance fans.
At a recent press conference, Automotive News reports that Osaki said, "We at Subaru want to survive the age of electrification by being nimble. We will implement various systems while focusing on flexibility and expansion." He said the U.S., which constitutes Subaru's biggest market by far, still holds lots of potential. "I believe we can still grow our sales in the U.S.," the new CEO said.

7. It's a brave new world, and anything is possible.
The future has never been brighter, and Subaru's best performance car days are ahead of them, with more coming soon. Just not soon enough for Subaru's fanbase.
It's good news for Subaru customers as the Japanese automaker looks to accelerate plans to offer new eco-performance models with the brand's core values of fun-to-drive, outdoor-themed, performance-oriented all-wheel-drive vehicles. There is a new sheriff in town. Stay tuned.
